Back in 2018 a new 2A sport emerged. Their take was to combine marksmanship skills with functional fitness. The sport was named the Tactical Games and over the past 6 years it has become the fastest growing 2A sport in the country.

So what does combining functional fitness and marksmanship mean? Picture a biathlon, take out the skiing and replace it with good old fashion grunt work. Carry this bag here, drag this sled there, then while you are physically fatigued and struggling to catch your breath, compose yourself to make accurate shots on target.

Your score is a combination of how quickly you completed the stage plus how accurate you were.  If you’re a fitness enthusiast who likes firearms this sport will  bring you back to after school practice and plinking bottles in the junkyard. It’s fun…. Really fun … and it’s easy to see why it has grown so quickly

This fun doesn’t come without barriers of entry though. Competitions are typically not conveniently located. Competitors often have travel by plane, stay in hotels, be away from their families and work for several days. That said … it’s totally worth it.

However, now there is another way! Fitness and Firearms Online has brought Tactical Games style competitions to the competitor. It uses a format well known in the CrossFit community. Competitors register through FitnessandFirearmsOnline.com. Workouts are released online and competitors are given a window of time to complete, record and submit their scores. These scores and videos are uploaded to an interactive leaderboard where competitors can see their placing and watch other performances. All without excessive time and money that comes with traveling to live competitions.
